Actors Highlight Endometriosis at Stelios Foundation Event

Eight renowned actresses took on the task of giving voice to real stories of women living with endometriosis, conveying with intensity and sensitivity the unseen side of their daily lives. Through their performances, the portraits of the exhibition “Behind Her Smile: Two Faces, One Truth,” organized as part of the EndoMarch Cyprus 2026 campaign, came to life, deeply touching the audience and shedding light on a silent yet particularly painful reality.

The event took place on Friday, March 13, at the neoclassical building of the Foundation on 5 Markou Drakou Street, in the heart of Nicosia, a space that in recent years has been associated with social impact actions. The exhibition stood out for its direct and human character. Through photographic portraits and narratives, it highlighted the personal stories of women living with endometriosis — a chronic condition that often remains invisible.

Eight well-known actresses from Cypriot theatre and television lent their voices to these testimonies, illuminating aspects of daily life that rarely reach the public sphere.

The initiative is part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts, which consistently supports programs and events with a social focus, emphasizing awareness and meaningful contribution. The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, operates in countries such as Cyprus, Greece, Monaco, Ireland and the United Kingdom, developing initiatives with social and educational impact.

In Cyprus, its presence is particularly active, with programs like “Food from the Heart” supporting vulnerable groups, bicommunal business cooperation awards, youth entrepreneurship support actions, as well as scholarships for University of Cyprus students.
