On the occasion of #WorldMaritimeDay and European Maritime Day EMD #EMDinMyCountry CYMEPA organised a cleaning of the Beach and the Seabed of Akti Olympion B’, (Thalassokoritso) in Limassol on Thursday 26 September 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
The event was under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Minister Ms Marina Hadjimanolis and the Environment Commissioner Ms Antonia Theodosiou and was supported by the Municipality of Limassol with the participation of the following organised groups:
CYPRUS SHIPPING CHAMBER, CYPRUS UNION OF SHIPOWNERS, LIMASSOL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY, WISTA, YOUNGSHIP, CMMI, THE PROPELLER CLUB, MASTER MARINERS ASSΟCIATION, THE NAUTICAL INSTITUTE, INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED SHIPBROKERS, LIMASSOL MARINA, DP WORLD LIMASSOL, ANCORIA INSURANCE, AKTI, PAVLIDES FREEDIVING SCHOOL and ENALIA PHYSIS.
Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, as the sponsor of the event, provided the volunteers with T-shirts, caps, gloves and bags.
There will be source identification of the collected litter by AKTI, within the framework of the national actions #potavristou.
