Study in London with a Stelios Scholarship
The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation is proud to continue its long-standing commitment to education by offering scholarships for talented Cypriot students to pursue their studies at two of the UK’s top universities—both attended by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou himself.
Each year, the Foundation awards:
- Two undergraduate scholarships for study at the London School of Economics (LSE)
- Two postgraduate scholarships for Master’s programmes at Bayes Business School, London
These scholarships are open to students currently studying in Cyprus and are awarded based on academic excellence, helping to offset tuition fees and make world-class education more accessible.

Bayes Business School Scholarships
Armed with an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance, Stelios graduated from the Bayes School of business in 1989, shortly thereafter embarking on his career in shipping (with Stelmar) and, famously, transportation (easyJet). As such, he
would like to support the next generation in both these fields.
LSE Scholarships
In 1987, Stelios graduated from the LSE with a BSc in Economics (Industry and Trade). In an expression of gratitude for the rich and diverse experience LSE had to offer, Stelios donated a space in LSE’s New Academic Building in 2008. Similarly, he sponsors the annual Stelios Scholars who choose LSE’s 3-year program. Every year, at least one Scholar originates from Cyprus.
